Template for inorganic air/aerosol chemistry (filter-based)

This format should be used for submitting all relevant inorganic components (sulphur, nitrogen, base cations and sea salt ions)
measured in air and aerosols with a filter-based system. Typically a three stage filterpack sampler (the EMEP reference method)
or a denuder system, but also chemical speciation of one filter systems like PM10 and PM2.5.

Points to note:

  • Report sum of nitrogen compounds, i.e. HNO3+NO3 and NH3+NH4 in addition to the concentration of the individual components
  • Include information on filter type(s) and coating solution(s).
  • Include information on both the sampling and analytical instruments
  • Include information on performance in laboratory intercomparison, i.e in EMEP and WMO/GAW for the respective year

    Flags commonly used with this format:

    All the flags defined for EBAS can be used, and the data submitter is encourage to go through the list of all EBAS flags prior
    to submitting to ensure that appropriate flagging is done. The most common flags for these measurements are:
