Line 212: Matrix (atmospheric compartment sampled)

Matrix:                       air

syntax:
Matrix:                       <matrix identifier>

The matrix identifies the atmospheric compartment sampled by the reported measurement. The allowed values include:

aerosol: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the total aerosol particle phase. The term "aerosol" is used here as often done in the air quality community, i.e. refers to the particle phase only.
air: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the total atmospheric gas phase.
pm1: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the total aerosol particle phase in the size fraction less than 1 micrometer median aerodynamic diameter.
pm25: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the total aerosol particle phase in the size fraction less than 2.5 micrometer median aerodynamic diameter.
pm10: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the total aerosol particle phase in the size fraction less than 10 micrometer median aerodynamic diameter.
pm10_pm25: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the total aerosol particle phase in the size fraction less than 10 micrometer and larger 2.5 mikrometer median aerodynamic diameter.
precip: Measurements refer to a chemical or physical property of the precipitation phase.

The particle size cuts are commonly achieved by an impactor or cyclone in the inlet system.
