Absorption cross section
This field is only used for measurements using optical methods where a molecule cross section is assumed for processing the measurement values.
Examples: For measuring ozone concentration in air using the UV absorption method, usually an absorption cross section of 1.1476 x 10-17 cm2 per molecule is assumed (Hearn, 1961).
